What these terms cover
These terms apply to the ResearchCal website, the public and private calendar feeds, the emails, and the connector for AI assistants (the MCP server at mcp.researchcal.com). They apply when you use any of these services, also through an AI assistant or another program.
The service
ResearchCal lists research events, calls for papers and deadlines from cited sources. The service is currently free. We can change, limit or stop a part of the service. Coverage is not complete, and organizers can change dates. The official event page is authoritative. See the disclaimer.
Permitted use
- You can look up events, add calendar feeds to your calendar, and share links to ResearchCal pages.
- You can use the AI assistant connector to answer your own questions. An assistant can show the results to you with the links to ResearchCal and the official sources.
Prohibited use
- Do not systematically download, copy or extract all or a substantial part of the ResearchCal event database, through the website, the feeds, the connector or any other route.
- Do not repeatedly extract insubstantial parts of the database to rebuild a substantial part of it.
- Do not republish, sell or redistribute the database or a substantial part of it, or use it to build a competing event directory or dataset.
- Do not try to avoid rate limits, access controls or the limits on the number of results per request.
- Do not send requests that overload the service or interfere with its operation or security.
- Do not share a private calendar link that belongs to another person.
ResearchCal can block or limit access that does not follow these terms.
Rights in the content
ResearchCal selects, checks and arranges the event information. The database and the site content are protected by database rights and copyright. Facts about an event remain free; these terms do not limit uses that the law permits without our consent. Organizer pages and other sources remain the property of their owners.
Liability
We prepare the information with care, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete, correct or current. To the extent the law permits, ResearchCal is not liable for loss caused by a missed or incorrect deadline, a changed event or an unavailable service. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or rights that the law does not allow us to limit.
Privacy
The privacy notice explains how ResearchCal uses personal data, including requests to the AI assistant connector.
Changes and applicable law
We can change these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
